Buy A Golden Icon – “Cowboys Day Off” Bronze
Dennis and Pam Eggemeyer visited Jackson Hole, Wyoming and met sculptor, Michael Hamby. He was creating “Cowboys’ Day Off” in clay at a local gallery. It was breathtaking! This bronze was meant to be a monument in Golden. After gallery owners introduced the idea to the Golden Civic Foundation and partners, the decision was made to place the monument in front of the Golden Hotel. “Cowboy’s Day Off” Monument was introduced to Golden, CO by Spirits in the Wind Gallery in 2000. It is 9′ to 10′ tall to the hat, and an additional 8′ to the top of the pole (the base is 5′ to 6′ wide)
The western bronze became an icon and a new theme for Golden.
Spirits in the Wind Gallery assisted the sculptor to sell the 50″ – 52″ overall size traditional patina bronze 45 edition until the mold broke. The edition closed, and only the 13″ size maquette was available.
